Have your kids follow the path of Grandpa when he was a little boy growing up in the Lower East Side. They’ll discover where he lived, what he ate, where he prayed and went to school. As they retrace his footsteps, their grandfather’s life will come alive before their eyes. Genuine tenement artifacts such as a 1900’s soda “machine”, a coal oven and a set of old-time playing cards from Grandpa’s days, will make old times feel real.

Our experienced guide with an excellent rapport with kids will take them through the streets of this celebrated neighborhood, bringing his exciting tales to life. Their senses will be stimulated and their imagination will work overtime as they actually live history.

They will experience Grandpa’s hardships as he struggles to adapt to the American Dream and taste his joy as he succeeds in overcoming all obstacles. They will have an opportunity to sample a pickle from the barrel and a fresh bialy, and to visit a school from yesteryear without indoor plumbing. They will sit on the synagogue bench where Grandpa most likely sat, and check out the library - a favorite hang out spot in those days.
